So I've just been working these last few days.
I don't really know what I am doing.
I want to incorporate more drawing into my work, and I love making art on paper, so I completed these two pieces yesterday. I'm not really sure how I feel about them as of right now.
I love the colors, and I really like my Barbie coloring book style hair...but I just don't know.
I had a lot of fun working on them :)
So that's about it.
On another note, Michael and I started watching Mad Men last night.
If you aren't familiar with the show it based on a handful of ad execs working in
NYC during the 1950's. I don't know how I feel about this show yet...
We watched 2 episodes last night and I realized how lucky I am to be a young woman living in 2009. I don't know how women, people of color, and gays and lesbians put up with all that BS for so long. Granted, we are all still fighting for equality and fairness, but good god, if that show is even a little accurate about the treatment of everyone who is not a white male...we've come a long way.
Anyway, hope everyone is having a good Thursday! :D

Hello! I hearted you on papernstitch! What a cool site! I just love your new art...the colors are great and I just love how they look together! Quick question...Where do you buy your frames for your art? Or do you make them? Thanks and have a great day!
Hi Michelle!
Thanks so much! :D
I get them at Ikea.
I heart Ikea.
My own Michael and I also just recently started watching Mad Men, I think I'm going to like it.
i really like the pieces on the last two posts. something is happening... my art teacher would have called it "process". It's strange there is no way to get anywhere other than to just work.
i like the drawing and Barbie hair.
and I was born in 1952. My poor mother, she never had a chance to get to be who she was meant to be. You are right...
Thanks Michele! I shall check out ikea!
So far I like Mad Men...
It's just hard to watch sometimes.
Like when the the gynecologist threatens to cut off the secretary's birth control prescription if he feels she is being to promiscuous. Seriously?!
It's also hard to ignore the blatant racism that occurs in the show.
It is interesting though, and it makes me appreciate living in the present...even though we still have a lot of work to do.
I like Mad Men because of all the awesome stuff from that era. I'm a total sucker for vintage retro things.
I love the new paintings...especially the chairs. I have some chairs in the works too. How funny. But mine is pink with a bird on it, of course. ;)
I really love the two new works... the colours are great!!!
I think we had mad men on TV here, it sounds familiar, but I didn't watch it.
I too feel lucky I was born when I was.
I'm such a fan of your beautiful work! Glad you posted your blog on etsy :)

Michele, I just love looking at your world. :-)) I've watched MadMen since the beginning and it is an acquired taste but once hooked, you will be reeled in. LOL Who is your favorite female? Mine changes. Love Peggy, Betty intrigues me. Used to enjoy Joan until...well, I don't wanna spoil it, so it involves the floor. ;-)
Oh, just wanted to say, please, more photos of your work table / desk while art is in process. LOVED looking at everything on there...
