Yay!! New Work!!

Ok, I tried to figure out the whole slide show do-hicky but, I can't seem to make it work...
So here is a link to my Flickr that will take you directly to my latest gallery work!!

Enormous Tiny Art Show
&
Papercuts and Gluesticks

Check it out. I am really proud of this. I think the ones that really stand out to me are the little Polaroids in the frames. I am really pleased as to how they came out, and how lovely they look in the frames. I have no idea how to photograph things behind glass, so I did the best that I could...

I'll be sending these out at the end of the week!
The Enormous Tiny Art Show takes place September 5th @
art+gifts+home
110 Congress Street
Portsmouth, NH 03801

And Papercuts and Gluesticks will be showing my work after August 15th @
20119 Lake Road
Rocky River Ohio
44116
440.799.4344

Well I hope you enjoy the new paintings!
Thanks for all the well wishes too! I feel a lot better today.
Hope everyone is having a good day :)

Poop on a Stick

I feel like poop on a stick today. Poop on a stick x's 100.

I somehow caught this really bad cold this weekend and it feels like my head is 100 feet down in the ocean. Bleh. I feel like I am moving in slow motion. Poop.

I have a lot of work to get done too...but I think I have done what I can for today. I was going to post all the new paintings I've gotten finished for my two upcoming shows...but I don't think that's going to happen today. I did manage to get two paintings photographed and posted in my Etsy shop!

Anyway, I had a pretty good weekend aside from feeling like poop. We went to the Royal Oak Farmers Market and got some pretty good loot. We also went to Ikea, and that is always fun :)

I got some frames for some illustration/screen prints that I am going to send to Papercuts and Gluesticks...um....yeah. Good times.

Well, hopefully I will get those pictures up and ready tomorrow!
Hope everyone is having a good Monday.

Running Out of Blog Titles

Yeah I just can't think if a title today.
I think I am getting a cold. I have a scratchy throat and I feel very tired.

Anyway...here is a picture of me working. At my desk.
I really like painting at my desk.

Um, yeah. Not a lot to say today either. Things are pretty quiet around here last night.
Michael and I are pretty much bored out of our skulls. He actually started packing up some books, and shipped some home today. Wow. That's a really good feeling :)

I think we are going to try and go down to Indiana to see my grandmother next week. So that will give us something to do.

We're planning on going to the farmer's market and Ikea! I need some frames for some illustrations I am sending to Papercuts and Gluesticks!
I'll post those new paintings sooooooooooon!

Alright. I'll stop wasting your time with this endless babble.
If you want to read something actually worth reading you should check out Megan Chapman's weekly blog. She posted an awesome blog today about what goes into being a working artist.
Yay Megan!

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Radical.

Dude. totally radical. I think radical needs to make a comeback. Ok. Maybe not.

Anyway, I got a really exciting note in my "real" mail yesterday, along with a nice check, from Kari at PaperCuts and Gluesticks Gallery. She asked if I would like to have a solo show in her gallery!!!
I was going to post it in my blog yesterday, but I thought I would e-mail her first, just to see if it was really true. She e-mailed me this morning to say yes! She also let me know that The Plain Dealer Newspaper in Cleveland interviewed her yesterday about her gallery, and that is looks as though they might include some of my work!! yay for us!! So I am really excited about that, and I think I freaked Chloe out a bit with my 20 minute happy dance.
This is going to be my first solo show in a "real" gallery!
Don't get me wrong. I love showing in coffee places and with other artists in group shows, but this is different. I am already starting to plan my outfit for the opening...

Also, I made my 100th sale on Etsy yesterday. I am officially a rock star.

My block print is almost done. I am hoping to print it today, by hand. No press, but I am still hoping to sneak into the Cranbrook print department and use theirs. I hear that no one on the department even uses the presses anymore, and a few years ago the former print instructor demanded that all but two presses be taken out side and left to rust because he claimed print was dead. How sad.

Speaking of print...I am going to be working one night at Utrecht to help with their inventory. Meaning that I will now get the Utrecht discount, meaning that I can afford to buy my screen printing supplies. Yay! I have a lot of ideas, now I just need the materials.

Panels are made and ready to get some gesso, paper, and paint on them. These ones are extra special. You will see, when I am done with them, just what I am talking about. It's cool. Trust me.

So that's that. Hope everyone is having a lovely Friday afternoon.

p.s. I am officially going to NYC in May. :)
Details to follow soon. eeee!

Papercuts and Gluesticks!

I am part of a part of a group show
Papercuts and Gluesticks Gallery in Rocky River, Ohip last month and part of this month, and I wanted to post some pictures of it. Kari, the owner is a lovely person and both she and her husband spent many long hours getting this space fixed up and ready as a gallery.

They did a beautiful job. I really would like to visit sometime soon. From the pictures it just looks beautiful, and I am sure it is in person as well.

The show looks amazing as well. All of the artists that are in it are amazing. I am so proud and happy to have art hanging in the same space as Michelle Moode, Rachel Austin, Danita, and the list goes on...go visit her blog! PapercutsandGluesticks.

You can contact her here:
20119 Lake Road
Rocky River, OH 44116
Telephone: 440.799.4344

So if you're in the Rocky River, Ohio area stop in and take a peek!

on a side note...we woke up this morning to discover that Chloe has developed cherry eye in both her eyes. I guess it doesn't hurt, but she will need surgery. Unfortunately it's very costly and we aren't really sure how we can afford it...but if you would like to donate to her fund I added a little donate button on my page up at the top. We don't know how much it's going to cost exactly, but I don't think it's going to be cheap.

Anyway, it's almost Friday!
So happy Thursday!!

Poor Chloe

So Chloe started puppy training classes yesterday.
She was really good, and very well behaved. There is only one other dog that is signed up for the class, and because the main purpose for her taking these classes is so that she gets socialized we decided to take her to a dog meet up at the same Petco...

Poor Chloe. She gets so excited and overwhelmed that she just gets sick...
She puked like 10 times while we were there. We put her down and all these dogs just came running over to her and she didn't know what to do so she puked. There was a little Jack Russell that kept following her and trying to play but she didn't want to so she just puked. Poor little girl. She just ran and hid under people's chairs and in the corner, and she puked.

I hope she gets better with this. She is fine with just Georgia playing in our apartment...I think it's just when there are a lot of people and other dogs she doesn't know what to do. She has social anxiety just like me!! Poor thing.

I hope it gets better.

On another note, I got all my paintings ready to ship out tomorrow for the Papercuts and Gluesticks show! I just have to type up an artist statement and tape it up. I hope it doesn't cost a million dollars to send. I think they will be posting the images on the internets so I'll post something when that happens. I am excited.

That's it for today. I have a lot of homework yet, and I want to watch the Democratic/Republican debate. Hope everyone is well and safe.
