Funky Funk

Whatever funk I was in last week seems to be disappearing.

My bike is in the shop with a flat tire right now. I'm waiting to pick it up.
While waiting I posted a new painting in my shop.

yay!

Today was a much better day in the studio than Thursday was.
The gesso disaster wasn't as bad as I had originally thought.
I thought the surface was going to come out all lumpy and uneven, but when I arrived to work today I noticed that they weren't that bad. With a lot of sanding I got a nice surface on them

I am soaking more glue for tomorrow. I want to add a few more coats before I begin to draw and paint on them.

Seriously

Ok.

I seriously need to get over myself today.
I feel like I have just been in this funk the last few days, and I can't seem to shake it.

The weather is so nice, and there isn't anything to be bummed out about.

Blah.

I think it was the mail today. I didn't get anything cool.
Just a flyer for some bank. Poop. One of the highlights of my day is getting the mail, and it pretty much sucked today.

So I took some pictures of some things that usually cheer me up.

Michael scored this thing of drawers yesterday while cleaning up the painting studios at Cranbrook. I guess every year someone is going to throw it away, and every year someone rescues it. He took it home and bought some spray paint to fix it up a little. I think it looks pretty cool.

Chloe was sleeping in the sun today with her tongue hanging out in full effect :)

I finally cracked open the little seedling egg that Angie gave me. I should have little basil sprouts emerging soon. Yay!

I have been working on this painting the last couple of days too.

So, hopefully this little funk will disappear soon.
