It was a rainy Sunday so we spent it at the Portland art Museum. We saw the work of Lee Kelly who is mostly a sculpture artist. He also painted these really great paintings, which I liked more than the sculptures.
We got to see part of the Herb and Dorothy Vogel art collection. If you haven't seen the documentary about them you really should. It's a fascinating and really cute story.
I always enjoy a trip to the museum. I love studying the paint strokes and Nate likes figuring out what kind of surfaces the artists painted on.
I've been going to the Portland art Museum since I was in college, and they have quite a few paintings that are always there. I love seeing those too. It's like seeing an old friend.
We went to a huge book sale, on the way home and i got a great typography book and a large bird book!
Great weekend and I am already looking forward to the next one.
