Easter!

Ok, I don't really "celebrate" Easter.

In fact I will probably be having tacos for dinner tonight...yum.

So I am getting ready to ship out my paintings for the Fresh Pot show and I am suddenly having nightmares about the box of paintings not arriving on time. Or at all. I need to stop worrying about this. I haven't had any trouble so far with packages not showing up...but I have been reading about some horror stories in the Etsy forums about packages being lost, or returned...eeks!

I need to stop hanging out in there so much. Seriously.

I mentioned a few days ago that I have been working on some illustrations for my Etsy shop. They are turning out so well, and I am having such a great time drawing them. It's such a nice little break from painting. I am working on some new ideas for some paintings, and I just bought some more pine panel, so hopefully I can start on some new pieces soon.

I will be putting some new work up in 323 East Gallery Boutique right here in Michigan! They are located in Royal Oak, and I am really excited about having work in a local gallery!

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday and a happy Spring-like Easter.
I'm off to bubble wrap my heart out.

Sounds like everything is going well. Good luck with the packing and shipping!

My two cents on this are: Please be sure to insure your work!! (I am sure you do already) But, I speak from experience, once a gallery attempted to ship me back 5 paintings and they were lost in shipment never to be seen again...
: (

It was so sad, but they were at least insured for their full retail value and I eventually received every cent, and that made it bearable and simply a sad story rather than a nightmare...

Good Luck- (don't worry it will all work out fine.)I ship all the time- with no problems...

happy candy day, rebirth, and flowering shrubs.

I don't have a letterpress! but you must be reading my mind because it's a dream of mine to learn how... ever since I took "print shop" in the 10th grade. (that would be about 1969 and they still had drawers of metal type, sigh...). But I do have an etching press, the maker is pelican and it's about 26 years old. I've had it for about 8 years and love it.

Michele, can you use any thread? G and I went through our sewing stuff and between us we have a bunch of extras. Let me know if you want it and I'll send it off.

Love the bicycle. you are doing great work.

Oh I would LOVE thread Janice!!

I guess I confused the letter press with the etching press.

Either way I am still jealous!

I love the new work. I am especially in love with the Bianchi bike, but that not only has to do with the fact that it is a gorgeous bike, but also because I LOVE Bianchi bikes.

Hi Michele,

I love your work. All of it: your visual art as well as your written communication. You have such a way about you; whatever you put your hand to creates a certain mood, a vibe.

A really cool one.

I am certain your paintings will arrive safely. Great advice to get everything insured. Pack well, do your part... then have faith.

I'm looking forward to seeing them here in Portland!

Best wishes,
Diana

Enjoyed reading your tips and congrats on your show. :)

I can relate to your Easter tacos. I decided on homemade veggie pizza for my Easter dinner.
