Tuesday is Much Better!

Yes.
Today has been going so much better!
It was such a lovely morning. It really felt like Fall. I am not getting my hopes up...I know it's still August and there is a lot of warm weather to be had...but it was really nice.

Oh! And then I realized that my friend Nate is going to come by and visit us! So I am really excited about seeing a familiar face from home :)
I think he might bring us some Stumptown coffee too!

Um...I actually did get a lot of work done yesterday. I think I just get so hard on myself that I overlook the things that I did accomplish, however small they maybe. So I think that from now in I am going to try and be a little more like Pollyanna and see the good in all of my work :) Haha! Really. I should try harder though.

In other news, Chloe has found a new sleeping spot. She likes to make a little nest out of the pillows that we have on our bed. I found her hiding in them this morning. She sleeps here until the sun comes out on our little walkway, where she goes to spend the rest of the afternoon napping. She has such a tough little life...and yes that is her little baloney tongue hanging out.

the whole pink thing is her tongue?!

Well, there is part of her tag, which is a red heart, but the rest is her tongue :)

she is so cute, I had to take a second look, but now I can see the tag...

It is easy to overlook some things you do each day especially if they have become routine.

I hope you don't mind my asking but I was just wondering why you weren't at home where you seem to want to be?

Katherine-

I am not at home in Portland, because I chose (choose? I don't know) to come to Michigan with my boyfriend while he attends graduate school. I only have 8 and a half months left, and I decided to stick it out because it's not really that much longer. Plus I am really stubborn and refuse to give up :)

oh I see, well yes eight and a half months is not that long in the scheme of things...

I have heard lots of good things about Portland, sounds similar to parts of New Zealand.

Well nice you are going to have a visit from a friend from home. Have fun.

it's so much easier to feel the glass half full thing on tuesday... especially if it's gonna be filled with good coffee!

has Kristin's (kristinimartini) iced coffee recipe gone around? i swear it's the cure-all for what ails, especially with the vanilla syrup!

it's pouring rain in oregon! the ground and the fires need it!
