Yay!
Louisa of
LeSacMagique sent me a ton of gouache and I couldn't be happier!
I really love painting with gouache, and I am so thankful to her for sending me more.
It was a beautiful day today!
Two days of snow and cold are in the future.
I don't really mind. I don't have to be anywhere, or do anything, but make things :)
Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday!

oh, i love guache. can you recommend a good brand?
can't wait to see what you make with it.
gouache is good...
I love seeing little glimpses of studio shots like this.
I hope you have a productive few days inside away from the snow.
I've never used gouache... every time some one at school mentioned it, I always thought they were saying "wash"... I think I would like it from what I've heard though
i love gouache. i still haven't mastered it though. hoping to learn from doing.
Ann-
I like Windsor Newton gouache. It's really high quality brand.
Gouache can take a little time getting use to. It's like a water color, but it has more pigment in it. You can create really opaque paintings with it. You can also thin it out to more of a water color wash.
To create the opaque quality takes just the right amount of water and paint.
It can be tricky getting a non-streaky look, but with enough practice you can do it :)
Ha! So you are meant to use water with gouache. I really am like a kindergartner when it comes to art supplies. I just slap stuff around with no respect to how it's meant to be used! But, I suppose so long as I'm having a good time, there's no such thing as a mistake in art.
Glad it got there safely, hope you make lots of super stuff with it. I love my print!!
receiving a package in the mail is always so fun! Youv'e done lots of great work lately ( looks like i'll be joining you on the west coast this summer-a little further south...)
