Blog Give away Week 3!

alright!

Here it is.
My blog give away number 3.
The 5x7" print that you could win is one of my newer prints, "My Boots."

This week my question is....
What do you want to be when you grow up.

I realize that most of us right now are fairly "grown up" but, what dreams or aspirations do you have right now. Where do you want to be in in the next 5 years...or 5 months.

For me I want to keep doing what I am doing, being an artist.
I love my work, and I hope I can continue to do this as a living.
I hope that I will be able to expand a bit, grow into some new shops or boutiques. I am also hoping to apply myself to some more gallery shows.
I am really hoping that this will be the year where I can finally afford health insurance!

I'd also like to start a family :)

So there is my answer.
I'd love to continue to be a working artist, and a mom, with health insurance when I grow up.

Now it's your turn.
Just leave your answer in the comments below, and on Thursday night I will draw a winner, and announce who it is on Friday afternoon!

I've wanted to be so many things when I grow, a dancer, an actor, an artist, but at the end of the day I want to be what I am. A tatter, a mommy and a wife... only a little more of a famous one!

When I was little, I wanted to grow up to be a vet, but instead I became an architect. So now, when I grow up some more I want to work on an animal sanctuary and craft/sew pouches in the evenings/on the weekends... and hopefully find a little place to call my own :)

Like you I'd like to continue doing what I'm doing. I am looking for my 'vision' and a return to photography combined with textiles. In five years, I hope to have found my unique style, to be in more shops, to have a show or two, and take some of those textile tour workshops in India, Nepal, etc. Of course my textile work would generate the money for me to do that.

I'd like to be working full time from home as an artist in five years, and home would have a big garden, some chickens and a goat, maybe two goats, so the one wouldn't be lonely... I'd have a big yard for our dog, Lucy to play in, and an old house for me to play in, and hopefully starting my own little family with T:)

When I "grow up" I 'will' to be making art in a collective of artists all working in our own studios, with a cafe, a galley and an art supplies shop, all connected with inner and outer courtyards. This has been my dream for many years. Meantime I am working in my own studio across from the Farmers market and the parklike show grounds. Today watching very wet horses at the Horse of the Year, delighted I'm not a horse nut!

When I grow up I want to be a photography/art teacher at the high school level. I want to get married and have 3-5 children and spend my free time making art and photographs and still being a working artist especially in the summer time. Eventually I may even decide to be a full time mom and work as an artist from home. YEAH!

When I grow up I would like to be an artist. If I could sell just one piece of art - that would make me very happy! Also, I would like to be healthier when I grow up and have improved my bone density since I recently learned I have osteoporosis at the age of 39!

When I grow up I want to be a better mum - no temper tantrums or losing my cool. I want to be the kind of mum that my boys can confide in. A cool mum that all the other kids wish was their mum.

Love the boots picture! thank you

When I grow up, I'd like to be a dancer. I suppose that's more a wish than a hope, so I'll settle for refining my craft in printmaking and bookmaking.

When I grow up, I want to spend all day baking bread and playing guitar. Maybe I'll turn responsible and wear a watch.

I am or have already been everything I want to be when I grow up, so I'd just like to keep being what I am, except without the headaches!
(love the boots!)

When I grow up I want to be wise and happy. We all have to find a way to keep doing what we love. :)

Best wishes to all of you!

I want to take more risks and make my life deeper with lovely artful moments. Also, become more independent spiritually, tap into my fearless five year old self artist and live my life through her eyes.

When I grow up I will be a homeschooling mom, who also runs a craft business selling my fiber art, who also wears cute amy butler barcelona skirts!! ♥
Haha, fun indeed. I love the blue boots, I would put it in my son's bedroom! thanks for the chance!

hmm within the next 5 years... i want to have a house with a backyard. i have never had either. not even a balcony! I would love to still be making art and have not given up by then. I'd be happy with a job I dont hate PT and making art that I am actively showing and selling. I just want to be in it not dreaming of it.. if that makes sense.... If these things go well then I would maybe have a baby.... I wouldn't mind working with kids, like the organization kids with cameras type of thing...

When I grow up I want to be the owner of a large and beautiful brick home, with a warm and sunny studio where as a famous artist I spend my time when I am not with my two or three beautiful children, husband, or traveling to different countries. :)

The first thing I really wanted to be was an author--maybe one that illustrated too. I think about that from time to time. Now I think I want to be an artist...to get into more shows, etc.

When I grow up I want to own my own home with my dream kitchen (lots of counter space with a utility sink, lazy susans and pull out drawers, gas stove, nothing crowding the counters, herbs growing in the windows) and a house that isn't too close to the neighbors we have our own private space to enjoy. Sigh.. that would be heavenly.

When I grow up I want to be debt free, own a home with a full basement so I can have a ginormous art studio in it, to make art all the time with my adorable children! I also want to be able to run a marathon. (that goal is the loftiest of them all!)

When I grow up...I want to be HAPPY! Happy, in life, with who I am and with what I'm doing. Being positive, creative and physically active usually keep me quite happy, so I think I'm on the right track. :)

I want to be a wonderful mommy of two (I have one already, and another on the way [due 08/19/09]) who can help her kids in every way possible to become who they want to be. I want to finish my interior design degree and broaden my craftiness. I currently scrap and paper craft, but I would love to be an excellent knitter as well as a few other things. I want to be a more fabulous me. :)

When I grow up, I want to be just like you Michele! (Well, a full time artist ;-) I would love to be able to support myself on my art. I'm also hoping that when I grow up in the next year or two, I'll be married and having kiddies.

Love your blog!

i want to continue being a fit and healthy wife and mother of 2 boys, painting, playing in the woods on my mountain bike, and writing/getting published some of the myriad ideas in my head. in the next few years, i would like to have started a creative collective (including studio space) for moms in my social sphere who have a creative streak but no support to pursue it.

For me, I want to be able to quit my marketing job and focus full time on Etsy. And have it be profitable. Right now it's definitely not profitable. Need to work harder on that.

I used to want to be a vet. Then I took some biology classes. :)

i am 36 this year, with a 3 year old son and an 11 month old son. i have been married for 10 years and we are starting to look to buy our first house. i don't feel old enough for any of this! i am enjoying the ride though (mostly!) and hope i don't have to grow up too much, to be a "real" adult. i want to always see the fun side of things and especially enjoy life through the eyes of my boys, i think i've forgotten how to view life with the simplicity that a child does.
