So..I've been really down lately about my Etsy sales.
This time of year I'm usually so busy I don't know what to do with myself, and I start to seriously contemplate getting an assistant. However, things have been very very quiet in my shop.
I'm not sure if it has to do with the fact that I've been working at my other job more, if it's the economy, or if my work has just gotten stale. Maybe a combination of all three. I don't know.
This afternoon, however, I sold a painting! I haven't sold a painting in my Etsy shop in eons and it totally made my day. I'm really going to try to make more of an effort to work on my shop. I've been mostly neglecting it and I don't think that is something that you can do and still expect to get sales...
It is hard to do while working full time however...but...I'm just going to have to stick to my guns and work through it.
So I worked on two new illustrations and two new paintings this afternoon. I'm feeling pretty good about them. Hopefully I can get them posted tomorrow! The illustrations, that is..the paintings might be awhile. I did manage to get these two new illustrations up and ready to go in my shop :)

Congratulations on the sale. We all have slumps, and they're so hard to live through. Redoubling your efforts will work. :D (love the new piece!)
things in my shop are a bit slower as well. i was expecting the holiday sales to come in by now. like you, i should probably add some new things to my shop! i know what it's like to have to juggle etsy and a full time job as well. great new work, and i wish you luck this holiday season!
Congrats on the sale! Hang in there with etsy. My sales have been non existent this year. Your work is great and sales will pick up :D
Oh I know the feeling, and I know how frustrating it is!! I just had to cancel my solo show because I simply can't get the work done for it while working full time, but I don't want to give up my job because I actually enjoy it!! I just want it all but I'm not very good at doing it all I guess ;)
Ha, my etsy shop fizzled almost as soon as I opened it. It's on my list of things-to-do/fix for next year. I do love your 2 new illos though :) And yay for a sale!
It has been slow for me, too. I have been selling things offline, recently, thankfully, but would love to see Etsy pick up again. Congrats on the painting!
I know how you feel. I'm so damn busy and it hurts my etsy shop. It's so hard to pretty much have 2 full time jobs..
congrats on the sale! such a good feeling... just keep on going on, its all we can do really, things will get better.
Same here, Etsy sales are slower than expected. Just continue to re-list so you stay on top. And no, your work is not getting stale (you silly)!!
