Done.

I finished my paintings today!

yay!

Here they are...
The photography isn't great. I was kind of in a hurry to get out of there. I like my studio, and I like making art, but some days I really want to spend the day doing something else.

So here they are. I'll try to get some better images once they are hung. I hang the show on Monday night, so if you live in Portland you'll be able to see them Tuesday morning! The show is going to be at the Stumptown on Division for the month of March!

Okay. Time to work on my poor ignored Etsy shop!
Hope everyone's week is going beautifully!

Busy Bee

Oh my.
I am so busy these days.
I'm in the home stretch for my Stumptown show so I've been in my studio every possible moment I possibly can be.

I'm also still working on the craft book cover for Lark Press, which I'm hoping to finish up this week. I'm hoping to post some photos soon.

Okay...time to get ready for bed so I can start all over tomorrow.

The title of this blog reminded me of this scene from best in show...

Oh! I also wanted to thank everyone for the wonderful comments in my last post.
It always makes me feel good to know I'm not alone...

Great Day

Well, I had a pretty great day off.

I had coffee with my friend Nate this morning, and then I was off to my studio. I got about 4 and a half hours of painting done! Woot!

I think I am almost done with this show too. I. thinking another full day of painting, and a trip to Ikea, and I'll be done. Hopefully! :)

I can't wait to show you all of my new paintings! Hopefully by the end of next week, or the week after I can show them all off to you.

So yeah, hope everyone had a good Wednesday.

Less Than Three Weeks!

We move in less than three weeks!
Wow.

I can't believe how close we are getting to our move.
Michael is hanging his painting right now for the thesis show, this Saturday.
I am so excited.

I can't believe he's almost finished!
His thesis paper is coming along. He's still writing it, but he's got the bulk of it written so far.
Yay!

I'm just trying to get my paintings finished up for my show in July.
I need to have them all finished and shipped out by the time we leave for Portland.
I won't have time to work on them when I get home, so I need to make sure they're done before the first week of May. I'm almost there...just a few more things...

On another note, I was featured on a fellow blogger, and Detroit area peep!

I'm her first interview ever on her blog :)
Yay!

Always Through

I need this quote today.

These are what I worked on today...

Work.

These are the paintings I worked on today.
Things are looking a bit better today :)

I just dove right in. Trying hard not to over think what I am doing.
I painted my little house in Portland. It's kinda cheesy...but I had fun painting it.
It might be one of those paintings I keep for myself.

Anyway, Tuesday is almost over and done, and I am looking forward to the rest of the week.
I will be in full hibernation mode. Tomorrows high is going to be 9 degrees, with a windchill of -20 degrees. Yeah. Um...that is really cold.
I think Chloe is already in hibernation mode...

Anyway, hope you all are having a good day.

5 Months and 1 Day

Until we move.

Well, give or take a couple of days...

Yay! Anyway, I had a pretty good weekend. Well, yesterday I was feeling really antsy. I hadn't been out of the apartment for about 4 days...

I think that's one of the hardest things to get use to. We only have one car, and it's too cold and snowy to really walk anywhere. Even if it wasn't cold, there really isn't any where to walk to...

At home I can walk to the grocery store, and Petco, and a great coffee place. 5 months and 1 day...

So I finished my two paintings today, and I think I might list them tomorrow.

Michael is having his second year review as I type. The second year review is big. All of the artists in residence come to your studio and discuss the work you've made during Fall semester. They also start talking to you about what you are going to do for the thesis show. Exciting. I guess they also decide whether or not you should still be in the program...but I've never heard of anyone being asked to leave.

So yeah. Today is a big deal for Mike, but he seemed very confident this morning before he left. I am proud of him. Then, tomorrow, we get to hang out! Sweet.

So okay, I am going to start on some Christmas cards for my family, so I need to get back to work.
Hope everyone had a good weekend.
