Mini Vacation

Nate's birthday was on Monday and we celebrated by taking three days off.

Found this little rug at one of ou favorite shops.

We mostly played tourist in our city. We ate delicious food, rode bikes around town and shopped in our favorite vintage/antique shops. I also treated Nate to his first professional massage. Needless to say it was a very fun, relaxing three days.
Coffee at Water ave Coffee after a ride around the waterfront.

Steel Bridge. 100 years old last weekend.

The rose garden at Peninsula Park

My two favorites.

I love how we can find so many things to do where we live. I'm also grateful that we had such great weather for our time off. We have another 3 day mini vacation planned for my birthday and I'm looking forward to it.

Pretty Red!

So.....
I had a wonderful birthday!

Hoor
ay!

I spent the d
ay shopping, eating crepes, sipping mimosas, and loving my life.

I
ate dinner at Beaker and Flask. It was wonderful. So great, in fact, we stayed for dessert. We ended the day at Free House with some drinks and lots of laughs.

One of the highlights of my d
ay was receiving this fabulous vintage, red, Valentine typewriter. It works beautifully too :D

a truly wonderful way to spend the first day of my thirties.

Last Day of 29!

Tomorrow is my birthday and I'll be 30!

Wow. It's
a bit weird.
When I w
as a teenager I thought being 30 was old. I thought I would have a husband, a career, a kid. I don't really have any of those, and I still feel like I'm 16 most of the time.

I h
ave to say, I'm pretty happy, though. This last decade has brought a lot of ups and downs. I've learned a lot about myself, and a lot about other people.

I'm looking forw
ard to what the next 10 years brings me. :)

Hope everyone h
as a good weekend!
Th
anks for stopping by.

Great Week!

Wow.
It's been so crazy this last week. I had a birthday, my friend came up from San Diego for a visit, and I did a craft fair. Busy, busy, busy.

I h
ad an awesome birthday. It included shopping, presents, a great dinner, dancing, and friends. I got a little surprise from Tia, of Christopher and Tia, in the mail too! So sweet of her! :)

The Cr
afty Wonderland craft fair went really well. Lots of talented peeps and Kim and I had a great time.

Kim went home l
ast night, and I am a bit sad. We always have a lot of fun. Now it's back to work and time to be serious again...ok, just a little serious...
I do miss her though.
We already started planning parts of her next visit.

Well, I hope everyone's week went well,
and is going well so far.

28 is Great!

Yes!

It's my birthday today :)
Yay!

Another year. 27 was good. It was really good. 28 is going to be awesome, I can feel it.

So I am trying not to spend too much time on the computer today. We'll see how that goes...
I don't have any big plans today. I am just letting things happen as they happen, and see where the day leads me. I think some mojitos might be on the agenda though :)

Ok, well, I promised myself not to be on the computer too much...so I should be on my way. Thanks for all the birthday wishes on my previous post everyone!

Happy Birthday!

It's Michael's birthday!

We were going to go get burgers and beer, and I was going to make some tasty treats...but our truck decided to start making a weird noise last week, so we decided to take it in. It's still in the shop, and seeing as Detroit, and it's surrounding areas, has no public transportation...we will be sitting at home this weekend.

I did suggest that we ride our bikes down to the gas station, pick up some 40 oz. and happily drink them in the weird park/trailer park down the road. He didn't seem to be too interested in that though.

Anyway. I found some really interesting links this morning.

This one is about Detroit.
I want to go here.
Detroit Public Schools Book Depository
(scroll down the page a little)

I also found a fellow Detroit crafter/artist
The Phantom Limb
She has really cool stuff.

Also, if you haven't discovered Megan Chapman's blog, you should.
She writes a weekly blog, every Friday, and this weeks was one of the best. Ever.
I am still thinking about what she wrote, and taking it in.
Thank you Megan!

ps. the pictures were taken by Mike. The house, is a house in our neighborhood. During Christmas there was a Christmas tree in every window.
