Sunday

I do believe that Sunday is my favorite day of the week.

Yesterday I really wanted to just spend time with Nate and art. We decided to go to the art museum and have lunch. We checked out the Cindy Sherman show and some of the Greek sculptures the museum is showing this month.

Me + Cindy Sherman
The Cindy Sherman show was great, I just wish there were more. There were 4 pieces total, all of them giant and fantastic. However, I kept feeling like I wanted to be in the same room with about 20.

Nate + Cindy Sherman
The Greek sculpture were great too. Trying to contemplate just how old they were was a little mind blowing.

It really was just what I needed. A day with someone I treasure the most and art.
Rain and beers at Oven and Shaker

We later had lunch at Oven and Shaker and headed home.
I feel like my heart is healing and that is a good thing.

Downtown always makes me happy.
Today Leigh Jackson of Noisy Dog Studio came over so I could show her some collage things and just hang out for a bit. She hung out with Chloe some too, and I'm pretty sure Chloe really enjoyed it. I know I very much liked seeing her.

Dark and Grey

Oh, my, it's so dark and rainy today. a good day for staying indoors and listing new items in my Etsy shop. although, not the best day for taking photos for my items. I'm going to need to re-shoot them, but at least they're up and ready to go. I feel good about that.

I listed my newest Portland postcard and also one of the small paintings from the Tilde show last month. I think the postcard really sums up the weather we're having today...

Missing Out?

I feel like I've been really getting back into my groove and working lots the past week or so. It feels really good.

I've been c
atching myself when I have the "Must-make-something- quick-so-I-can-post- it-on Etsy" thoughts. It's been hard, but I've been really good about it.

The little birds I've been working on h
ave been making me happy. Now I feel like it's time to move on. I don't know what's next, but that's what I'll be thinking about all day at work..

I'd re
ally prefer not to be at work today.
The Summit of awesome is taking place today in Portland. Well, it's been taking place the last few days. I really wanted to go. I just didn't have the funds and inventory at my job also happens to be this weekend. So double poop.

I feel like I
am really missing out on this. Part of me wishes I would have just went anyway....
I like my job,
and I'm thankful to have health insurance and a retirement plan, but part of me wishes that I could go back to making art full time. Silly money and health care. Why does it have to play such a big role in our lives? ;)

Well, another grey day here in the City of Roses. It's supposed to rain all weekend too. I like the rain and grey. It helps me get work done, but at the same time, I'd really love to feel the sun on my face today.

Well, hope you
all have a good weekend! If it's sunny where you are, go outside and let the sun shine on your face for me!

Rain rain

It's a rainy lazy day.

We started out with a beautiful morning, but it quickly turned to grey and rain.
I'm okay with that.

I'm feeling pretty lazy.
a little known fact about me is that I love playing the computer game, The Sims.

I'm thinking I might veg out and play some Sims once I get laundry, my workout, and grocery shopping done.

Chloe is feeling a little lazy today too...

3 weeks!!!

O.M.G!

We leave in three weeks.
I was going to give you a run down on the thoughts running through my head, but decided I would keep my panic attack to myself. Spare you all the ugly details. Instead I'll leave you with some of the images from my lovely rainy day :)

Happy thoughts. Happy thoughts...

Morning Post

It's a blustery, rainy, wet day outside and I am loving it. It feels like home. I wanted to write a little bit early today because I have a lot of work to do before class tonight.
So I thought I would drink my coffee and post a little blog....

I did an interview for a fellow Etsy artist Jessica Torrent of LiveFunky.

You can read all about my incredibly interesting life, and how to stay young forever here:

Also, Megan Chapman came across this the other day, and sent me a message
http://www.crack-hotel.com/
(Why it's called Crack Hotel, we don't know, but she promised it was safe, and it is.)
Her blog, Six Amazing Artists You Should Know, is there, with my name :) , on the left hand side under the Art Asides...

So that's what I got this morning...lots of links for you to check out.

Have a terrific Tuesday.
