New Things

I've been adding new things to my shop this week!
Hooray!
Let's Spend the Night

It's always so nice to update my Etsy shop with fresh new things.

Let's Discover New Things

You can find Spend the Night  here, New Things here and owl cards here :)

I've got a few more little pieces of art in the works and I hope to have them done and listed next week. I've been working so much on paper I've forgotten that I have some small panels that I can paint on. I'm hoping to get around to working on those next week, and hopefully I can add some new paintings to my shop next month.
Owly card

Planning, planning. I seem to always be planning.

New Work.

New work!

In my shop!

Check it out!

I'm going to be posting lots of new work over the next week or so, so please check back in.
I'll also be adding more things to my sale section in my Etsy shop too!

Chloe, on the other hand, will be napping, like she usually does.
I went to fold my laundry this afternoon and walked in on this....

Silly puppy....

Work Work Work

Hey!

*Today is the last day to vote/give a heart to my portfolio on Paper n' Stitch! Please visit it and click on a heart! If you already have, thank you so much!*

So I've just been working these last few days.
I don't really know what I am doing.

I want to incorporate more drawing into my work, and I love making art on paper, so I completed these two pieces yesterday. I'm not really sure how I feel about them as of right now.

I love the colors, and I really like my Barbie coloring book style hair...but I just don't know.
I had a lot of fun working on them :)

So that's about it.
On another note, Michael and I started watching Mad Men last night.
If you aren't familiar with the show it based on a handful of ad execs working in
NYC during the 1950's. I don't know how I feel about this show yet...
We watched 2 episodes last night and I realized how lucky I am to be a young woman living in 2009. I don't know how women, people of color, and gays and lesbians put up with all that BS for so long. Granted, we are all still fighting for equality and fairness, but good god, if that show is even a little accurate about the treatment of everyone who is not a white male...we've come a long way.

Anyway, hope everyone is having a good Thursday! :D

It's So Quiet

It's really quiet around here today.

The last few weeks all I have heard is hammering, and sawing, and drilling. Now that everyone is moved in, it's really quiet. It's nice.

Fall is definitely in the air today. It's dry, and cool, and it's awesome.

So I have just been working on some works on paper the last few days. I haven't really felt like painting lately. I really like working on paper...so I think I will be continuing that for awhile.

Speaking of works on paper...I was so self involved yesterday that I totally forgot to mention that my friend Megan has an Etsy shop now! Yay! Check it out.

So that's about all I got today... just hanging in there...working things out...

Last Day of 27

Today is my lat day of being 27 year old.
Yes, tomorrow is my birthday. I'll be 28.

Happy Birthday Me!
I love my birthday...even if I am in Pontiac, Michigan...I still love it.

The last couple of days have been rough.
Just missing home, not really knowing what I am doing, and the heat, have all been factors of my over all feeling of yuck.

Today was a lot better, but I can still feel it.

My really good friends had their first baby on August 4th! A little baby boy, named Warren. Mom and baby are both healthy and happy, and I am so glad for that. I really wish I could be there...

Oh well, soon enough I suppose. Please, please, please time...go by quickly.

So I have been continuing my little works on paper. I am almost done. I need to go in and add a little sewing here and there, but I really like them. I have also been busy gessoing panels and collaging them. I started a couple of new ones today too. So a lot of work getting done! Which is good.

I am still having feelings of trying to figure out what I am doing, but I have been working at a lot slower pace, and I already feel better about that.

Oh! one of my friends from PU found me yesterday, and she found me on Etsy! We endured a summer of pure hell together a few years ago. An entire year of French in just 3 months! Anyway, I happened to be on the front page and he clicked on my illustration and figured the rest out from there. Mary also has a blog and it's a really good read. So you should read it if you have time!

So anyway, hope everyone is staying cool!
