Spring Fling!

The Spring Fling Craft Fair is less than a week away!
Egads!

I'm a bit nervous. I always gets nervous before a craft fair...

I think I am almost ready though. I think so anyway...

Michael and I made banners for the event this weekend. It was a collaboration project, if you will... :D

We had fun, and it was nice having him home all day. He'll be leaving to go to New York for a few days on Wednesday. I have to admit I am really jealous. Oh well...I guess it gives me some time alone for awhile, because let's face it, I don't spend enough time alone as it is (insert sarcastic tone here).

Well, anyway! I hope everyone has a lovely Monday! I'll be back to my regularly scheduled blog posts this week.
Oh! Speaking of blog posts, I'll be doing a guest blog post for Jen of IndieFixx this week! I'll post the link when it get's all posted up on her blog :D

Le Sigh

It's all over.
My DIY Craft Fair weekend went well.
It was a little exhausting...but it went well.

My friend, and neighbor, Kelly came to help me out on Saturday. And Michael and Chloe came out yesterday. Chloe got to meet all kinds of new puppies. It was her birthday on Friday! So she's one now. Yay Chloe!

I met some really awesome people, and got to meet some people that I have been talking to via Etsy. I got to meet Siouxsane and Stephanie of Phantom Limb :) Also! I got to meet Emily of City Bird as well as Shannon, the awesome lady who runs. Comfortably Lovely. I also met Janet Hanmick who asked me to participate in the Detroit Artist Market (DAM) in November so I am really excited about that. It's a gallery space in Detroit, and I am realyl excited about it.

I felt like I was part of a small group of artists again...and it felt like home...
I also got a lot of great feedback from people :)

Anyway, it was a long weekend. I am pretty tired, and don't feel much like doing anything today.

I am laready getting really excited about the DAM and the Detroit Urban Craft Fair. But, I don't know. I think I am just going to take it easy today. Michael starts his new part time teaching job today. He's going to be teaching 6-9 year olds art in the afternoon, and then in the evening he's going to be teaching a figure drawing class to older students :) He's really nervous about teaching the kids. I think he's going to fine.

Anyway. I think that's it.
I got some laundry to get out of the dryer...hope everyone has a good Monday.

Egads!

I like that word. Egads!!

haha.

Anyway...I said that the other day when Michael said that he had built 83 panels of varying sizes for me!!! Egads! 83...panels....I *hope* that will get me through the summer. If it doesn't, well, I am going to raise my prices 125% and hire an assistant :)

I had a good weekend. Not as much work done as I would have liked, but I am waiting for my panels to be finished so I can get to work on them. I want to put more paintings in my shop....

I went to a craft fair in Flint that was really fun. It was called Flint City Handmade. It took about an hour to drive there, but Flint was actually kinda cute. I thought it would be like Pontiac. Run down and abandoned, but it wasn't. They even had really good coffee! :) yay!

I also met a fellow Ety peep! yay! My first Etsy peep. His Etsy shop is Kill Taupe and he was recently a featured seller. I bought these awesome Detroit Hooker magnets :)

I almost met him a few weeks ago at the 323 Gallery opening...he has work there too...but I was too shy. Anyway, this time I just walked right up and said hi, and he was really really nice. He's thinking about moving to Portland! He totally should. I think he would fit right in.

Anyway..that's about it. Look for new paintings very soon...very very soon.

Have a good Monday.

ps only 8 days until I leave for NYC!!
