Whoa....

It's been awhile since I posted a blog.
Yikes! Things have been so crazy the past couple of weeks. I don't even know where to begin.

So I won't. Things are going great. Very busy, but very good.

Crafty Wonderland in in two weeks! If you're in Portland please stop by and say hello.
It should be lots of fun. There are going to be so many wonderful artists and it would be a shame to miss it. I'm really excited. I'm hoping to meet some of the artists I've been "stalking" the last couple of years. :)

Well, I'll leave you with a bit of inspiration today. I love ranunculus and I was lucky to receive some the other day. They're just so dense and vibrant. One of my all time favorite flowers.
So they've been my sunny bit of inspiration the last couple of days.

Oh Wednesday.

I am still not 100% but I think I'll be back to normal and better tomorrow!
On another note, I am getting so very close to finishing my Stumptown show!

I just have a couple more things to do tomorrow and it's done! I'll post some pictures tomorrow for sure.

Four Years!

Today marks our four anniversary!
Michael and I started dating four years today. :D

We went to our friend Angie's Birthday party. Happy Birthday Angie!
We were at Angie's party four years ago playing Bunco. Which is very rare for me. Playing a game with people I don't know. But, I didn't want to seem like a party pooper in front of him, so I decided to join in. At the end of it, we both won all the money and called a cab with our winnings.
Several of the people that were there that night became really good friends of mine. Yay!

In other news! It's almost Valentines day! Well, according to the candy and card companies. This means that once again it's one of my favorite times of year for candy!!

So I bought my first bag of Brach's Conversation hearts today. Not to be confused with the Necco Conversation hearts which pale in comparrison.

Well, it's suppose to snow another 6 inches tonight and tomorrow. Looks like another snowed in weekend. Blerg. Snow.

Blog Blog Blog

I was so excited earlier that I blogged before I had a chance to share my day with you!

Wow! I can't believe the great press I have been getting the last two days. It's like, it's like magic!

This is what it must have felt like to be popular in high school. Okay, maybe not. This is probably way cooler.

Anyway, so I am almost done with the paintings for my show in April. AWESOME. I love painting my industrial landscapes. I really do. But by the end of a series of them I remember why I only paint them once in awhile. That sky just kills me. It has to be just perfect. Not too much blue, not too much yellow, not to much burnt sienna...I try to avoid rainbows...it's painful sometimes. And all the little intricate details in the bridges and water towers...But I think they are just about done and ready for some birds, then some cold wax medium and galkyd!

I wanted to do this series because I felt it was appropriate for my home sickness. But, I think if I was asked to do a show any time soon I would do a series of typewriters. They all have their own little personalties and characteristics. And it's fun seeing how each one comes out. I decided I wanted to paint a sewing machine last weekend, so this is what it looks like now. I am going to glue down the collage and wax the whole thing...but this the work in progress. It's exciting, and I am enjoying this idea of painting appliances and "electronics."

Work Work Work

I have been working quite a bit lately.

It's good. It's great. I should be working now.
Actually I should be taking my neighbor's dog out right now, but I wanted to make a quick blog before I do.

So here are some of the paintings I have been working on for my show in April at the Fresh Pot.
I'm excited. They are all things you see in the Portland city landscape. All things I miss seeing on a daily basis. Water towers, bridges, stuff.

The two typewriter paintings are pretty much spoken for. I just wanted to post them because they look so pretty. I thought I would post a picture of my actual type writer too. The best five dollars I think I ever spent. Anyway, Lucy (my neighbor's dog) is probably wondering where I am...so I should go. Happy Tuesday peeps!
