Monday Monday...

They are off!

I sent this morning via FedEx insured to the max.

They should get there by Friday.
I have a good feeling now.

It's going to be a good show. I wish I could see it.
One of my favorite things about shows in popular coffee places is sitting for an hour or two, drinking copious amounts of coffee, and listening on on people's conversations. Sometimes it's about my work, sometimes it's about being rescued from three feet of snow on a snowshoe trail after being lost for two days. Yeah. No kidding. That was the best overheard conversation I think I have ever heard.

Oh!
Awesome stuff. So Ryan from Littleputbooks asked me if I could put together some tips for selling fine art on Etsy! I put together a list of 11 things that every fine artist should know about selling paintings and other artsy stuff and it will be posted on the Littleput blog!

It's mostly things that I have had to learn the hard way, unfortunately.

Hope everyone is having a great day, and recovering from their chocolate bunny induced sugar commas nicely.

One More Time

Ta da!

So, they are all going to have a lovely frame like the one in my previous post. Michael made this beautiful frame for a custom order I had, and it looks so very nice. Thanks Michael. He's awesome.

Some of them are still waiting for a little coat of wax, but for the most part they are done, and i couldn't be happier.

I think they all turned out just lovely. Wow. After typing that sentence I realized how long it has taken me to be able to say that about my work.

Anyway, if anyone would be interested in purchasing one, you will have to do so through the Fresh Pot Gallery. The show opens the first week of April and their information is as follows:

Fresh Pot
4001 N Mississippi Ave
Portland, OR
(503) 284-8928

If you live in the Portland area, be sure to check them out. I think the show goes up April 5th.

Also, I posted 4 new paintings in my Etsy shop today, so be sure to check them out...
I'll be posting one, maybe two, more tomorrow.

Have a great night....

Work Work Work

I have been working quite a bit lately.

It's good. It's great. I should be working now.
Actually I should be taking my neighbor's dog out right now, but I wanted to make a quick blog before I do.

So here are some of the paintings I have been working on for my show in April at the Fresh Pot.
I'm excited. They are all things you see in the Portland city landscape. All things I miss seeing on a daily basis. Water towers, bridges, stuff.

The two typewriter paintings are pretty much spoken for. I just wanted to post them because they look so pretty. I thought I would post a picture of my actual type writer too. The best five dollars I think I ever spent. Anyway, Lucy (my neighbor's dog) is probably wondering where I am...so I should go. Happy Tuesday peeps!

Studio!

So after re-organizing my little space for painting, I feel like I have a little studio all to myself. I wish I had done this sooner, and really don't know why I didn't.

I've been working on my Fresh Pot show and some bigger paintings for my Etsy shop. Things are going really well. I had some pictures, but it seems as though my computer has eaten them. THis is happening more and more lately.

That's about it. It's been one of those days where I keep checking my e-mail every 30 minutes to see if I got a sale.

I'm just feeling really anxious today. I think I have already eaten my weight in Reece's Miniatures...
Grrr....anxiety and restlessness are my least favorite things in the world.

Some New Work

I got a lot of work done today. Very proud of myself.
It's been a very productive day. Mike took Chloe to school with him while I went on my run this morning. He ran her around outside a bit, so she was asleep almost all morning. Oh it was so nice...then after I gave her lunch, I took her out in the back area and ran her around a little, so she was zonked out all afternoon too. She's sleeping on my lap right now...

Etsy sales have been pretty slow this week...I think I really need to get my shop in shape.
I think it looks too random. So my goal is to make it look a little more unified.

I love the paintings that I am working on right now. I will have to sell them for a little more in my shop, but if they don't sell that's ok with me. I've decided that I would like to continue paintings similar paintings for the Fresh Pot show in Portland in April. Whatever doesn't sell I can use in the Fresh Pot show.

Speaking of April. I am really thinking about going to NYC for my Spring Break. My friend Butch, from Portland, who drove with us out to Michigan, then continued on to NYC lives there. Wow, that sentence needs some work. Anyway, he lives there with his girlfriend who is going to film school right now. They live in Williamsburg, which I guess is hipster central.
Anyway, he said that if I would ever like to come stay for awhile, they have a spare bedroom that I could stay in. So, I'm thinking I might go hang out there for a week in April. That would be so fun...so fun. I'll see what happens, and I'll think about it, but I think it's a great opportunity.

Okie. That's about it for today

Snow Storms!

Hoy cow.
The entire Michigan region is under snow storm advisory today and tomorrow.
Then Saturday, and early Sunday we are going to get sleet and ice. Fun stuff. I guess I wouldn't care so much if Michael didn't have to be a t school on Sunday...

I hate driving in snow and ice. It terrifies me.

Looks like maybe he'll have to drive so I can just stay home.

So I posted a couple of new paintings last week and three sold. Awesome.
I wish I could keep up. I'm working on some new pieces right now, and I am also going to do some bigger pieces. I'm not sure the bigger pieces will sell as well. I have to price them a bit higher and I don't think people like spending more than 100 bucks on Etsy. But, we'll see what happens. I have a show at the Fresh Pot in Portland in April, so maybe if they don't sell on Etsy I can put them in that show.

It's Friday. Yay. That means Michael has his one day off a week with me tomorrow. I'm excited.
Chloe is good. We trained her to use a nudge a bell to let us know she needs to go out. She's about 75% there. I think a couple more weeks and she'll have it down. She's a smart muffin.

I took her to visit the Cranbrook painting studios the other night and she just about lost her mind. All the women were like "OMG!!!!" She's soooooo cute!!!" It's good for her to get out though. I'm sure there will be many more visits there.

Okie...back to work and back to browsing the internet. My favorite pastime these days.
