Whoa....

It's been awhile since I posted a blog.
Yikes! Things have been so crazy the past couple of weeks. I don't even know where to begin.

So I won't. Things are going great. Very busy, but very good.

Crafty Wonderland in in two weeks! If you're in Portland please stop by and say hello.
It should be lots of fun. There are going to be so many wonderful artists and it would be a shame to miss it. I'm really excited. I'm hoping to meet some of the artists I've been "stalking" the last couple of years. :)

Well, I'll leave you with a bit of inspiration today. I love ranunculus and I was lucky to receive some the other day. They're just so dense and vibrant. One of my all time favorite flowers.
So they've been my sunny bit of inspiration the last couple of days.

Keeping Up

Geeez...

It's been too long since I posted a new blog. I had a feeling that once I moved back to Portland it would be harder for me to keep up. I was right. I'm going to try to be better about it though. There was just too little to do in Pontiac, and so much to do here! It' been hard to balance everything.

I've had to get a job while being back too. Things are a little more expensive here, and honestly, my sales this summer haven't been great. So, I picked up a couple of shifts at Utrecht, the art supply store. It's been pretty fun, but unfortunately I will be leaving. I managed to get my old job back at New Seasons, a local grocery store. However, this time will be a little better :) I will only be working part time, and hopefully enough part time to still get the benefits. If you work something like 26 hours a week you can still get full benefits. Which is pretty awesome. If I don't end up working enough hours to receive benefits that's fine too. The company pays pretty well, and there are a number of perks too. Plus I get to work with some great peeps.

There are a lot of changes going on in my life right now, but I feel like they are good changes.

Hello Tuesday!

So...Mike is gone until Friday. I'm on my own until then.
It's going well so far, just keeping busy. Chloe is still a little confused. She came in this morning from our walk and started looking for him. Checking in all his hiding places :) Cute!

It's a pretty personal blog post. I didn't really realize it until just now...
Sometimes I really struggle with blog posts, especially when I am guest blogging.
I try to just be myself, but so much of myself is personal. So much of my work is personal, that I don't really know how to express that in words without really putting myself out there.
I've never been a fan of small talk. If I want to get to know you, or if you want me to read about you, you better give me something that I can really relate to. Give me something that makes me want to look at your work in a different way...

On the other hand, maybe people don't really care about why I paint what I paint. Maybe it's too personal for them. They don't really want to know about me, or my dog, or why I feel the way I do. On the other hand, do I really want people to know this about me?

It's really difficult. This line between what's okay and what's not okay.
I don't think that this is something that I will ever know the answer to, and maybe that's okay. I don't know.

Oh well! Maybe I'm just over thinking things, as usual. :D
